It’s a Friday Freeplay people, so buckle up and soak in the rays. Wait, what the hell would you buckle yourself in to get a tan? I mean, a Canoe or maybe Das Boot!?
Das Boot! Hey, I know that phrase and the book, and that one is fun to say when an NFL team goes on a drive and has to punt on 4th down. I love yelling out ‘Das Boot’ on 4th down, just sayin’. LoL
So, here we are set for a Friday Freeplay, and the showdown is with Düsseldorf and Wolfsburg at Merkur Spiel-Arena. A 2:30 ET kickoff here in the States should have you prepared for little-bit of fireworks on Friday evening in Germany.
Call me crazy, and I assume that many people will have to see this match in a similar fashion being that I expect 3 balls to find the back of the net when these two square off, right? I mean, I am not asking you, I am basically just asking a question to anyone who could see this match going any other way than a possible 2 – 1 affair!
The Both Teams to Score prop bet is set all the way up at -190 at a handful of sportsbooks out there. The line setters will certainly make you pay for, at worst, a 1 – 1 result to cash the BTTS so the value is simply too diminished in my opinion. You know by now that in the years that you have seen me posting plays and predictions, that you have NEVER in your life seen anything higher than -125 on my juice/vig. Can’t have it, won’t touch it, and when it climbs out of the -125 (1.80) range, I start looking for better options.
In this case, the better option is the Over 2.5 & 3 Asian Handicap Total listed at -115 at any book that has the odds out for this match. The straight 3 holds nice money at +110, but a push on a 2 – 1 result just seems like not enough to me here, so I want to, at least, cash a half-win ticket because they make me smile too.
Anyone out there thinking that half-wins and half-losses throughout your betting life will save and do things for your ROI? Yeah, you know you understand why if you have done this shit as long as I have. Take my advice, and just hanker down on some funds out of Germany on Friday to get your weekend started a little early.
Let’s keep in mind that Zach Steffen was with the U.S Men’s Team this past week, but he asked to be let go early so he could be back in time to be in net for Fortuna for this outing. Steffen is playing at a high level in Germany since leaving Columbus for Dusseldorf, although he has also been among the most tested keepers in the land as well. Leading the league in saves usually means you are facing a lot of shots, and we all know that the more shots you take, the better the chances to find the back of the net.
Steffen could be a concern for this total, but when you look at all the players who are set to be absent, there is plenty of goalkeeping and defense that will be off of this pitch on Friday.
Additionally, I will post what the Bundesliga home page shows for the lineups so you don’t have to bounce around over there to look for it: (Should you want the link, it is HERE)
